Open Database Connectivity is a vendor-neutral application programming interface (API) for accessing SQL databases. The alignment of ODBC with the ISO standard SQL Call Level Interface lead to widespread support for ODBC as a solution for querying SQL databases. Because ODBC enjoys widespread support, there are hundreds of ODBC drivers for databases, ISAM files and other data sources. ODBC is available on computers running Windows XP and other Windows operating systems, Linux, Macintosh operating systems and various flavors of Unix.

ODBC servers are middleware products that sit between a desktop client and a database. They enable organizations to deploy a single ODBC driver on the desktop to connect to one or more SQL databases. Products of that type are denoted by the word "server" in middle column of the table below. The list of ODBC drivers and vendors is in alphabetical order by vendor name.
